Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

All our quotes are personalised to your requirements, location and number of guests. To get a quote just enter your details on our quote form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. As a general idea, our prices start from £100 for a two hour children's party. Don't forget to like and follow us on Facebook or Instagram to hear of our special offers!

Do you do themed parties or special requests?

Yes! If you have certain designs you would like featured at your event that is not a problem. If you would like a special theme for your party, or you want to make sure your child can have their favourite character painted - please don't hesitate to get in touch. We can always learn a new design and work around a chosen theme especially for you. Please give us at least a week's notice to prepare design boards and order any necessary materials. (Although, we have found children will not always want to go with the theme!)

What age is suitable for face painting?

We like to say from 3 to 93! But we are flexible!

Younger children can be more sensitive to cosmetics and often find it difficult to sit still. Which is why face painting is not recommended for under three’s, however a simple design on the arm if the child is willing, can often be accommodated.

How many faces can you paint per hour?

We can paint around 12-14 faces per hour of quality designs. If you have lots of children at a party it is sometimes better to add an extra half an hour, or we can provide a trainee face painter at a discounted rate. We also have a number method where the children get a number painted on their hand then go off to enjoy the party until their number is called. For larger events we can also limit our designs to fast faces to ensure more children get to be painted.

Are the products you use safe, will my child have a reaction?

To considerably reduce the chance of a reaction we only use quality professional face paints which are EU/FDA approved and we follow a strict code of hygiene.  The brands we use most are Global, Superstar, Paradise by Mehron, Diamond FX, and occasionally Cameleon and Tag.

That said, everybody’s skin is unique so it would be impossible to guarantee. If you know your child has allergies, generally sensitive skin or has had a reaction in the past, please contact me to discuss it.

All our brushes are synthetic (no animal hair is ever used). The glitters and body adhesives are all high quality, cosmetic grade and we carry plenty of sponges so that each client gets a fresh one.

As a Mum myself I appreciate how important good hygiene is. We frequently change our water and thoroughly clean our brushes. For this reason we cannot paint anyone that has a skin condition on their face, open sores/wounds, contagious diseases (i.e. chickenpox, impetigo etc.) or a severe runny nose/cough.

What is the best way to remove face paint?

Mix a squirt of gentle facial wash with a few drops of water and apply directly to the painted face, loosen all the paint into a smushy mess! Then wipe with a warm soaked flannel or sponge. Cream or oil facial cleansers can also be used in the same way. Very occasionally there may be a trace of the colour left (normally green!) but a second wash or a gentle rub with some oil (coconut is great) will lift the colour out. We do not recommend using baby wipes to remove face paint as these have been known to cause reactions when combined with the paints and the action of rubbing.

Can anyone get painted?

The number one rule is that the child is willing and wants to take part. We reserve the right to refuse to paint a child that is crying or distressed about getting painted. We cannot paint anyone that has a skin condition on their face, open sores/wounds, contagious diseases (i.e. chickenpox, impetigo etc.) or a runny nose/cough (or any symptoms of covid-19).

How long do Glitter tattoos last? How can I remove a Glitter tattoo?

Glitter tattoos can typically last 5-7 days depending on skin type and location of the tattoo. They are removable by soaking and rubbing with oil. Our Glitter Tattoos are waterproof so you may bath or swim but prolonged damp skin may decrease the life span of your tattoo. We do advise that children should be over 3 years of age and we do not recommend using our body adhesive on the face.
